Perspective.
Judgment. Experience.
My Leadership Journey
My career has taken me through senior leadership roles in public and private technology companies across Canada and the United States, working with products competing in global markets.I have helped scale companies, launch new businesses, navigate acquisitions, lead turnarounds and guide organizations through significant growth and successful exits.
I have also experienced the other side of leadership - failed launches, difficult restructurings, funding challenges and decisions where there was no obvious right answer.
Those experiences taught me something that only time can develop: pattern recognition . The ability to recognize what matters, see connections others may miss and bring perspective when the path forward isn't clear.
Today, that experience shapes how I coach, advise and partner with leaders.
01 Leadership
The experience of being accountable
CMO · CIO · President · FounderDecades of leading businesses through expansion, transformation and difficult strategic decisions have taught me the realities of executive accountability: balancing competing priorities, making choices with imperfect information and bringing people along through change.
02 Governance
The perspective of the boardroom
Board Director · Board Chair · iGP Board CertifiedBoard service has strengthened my understanding of strategic oversight, constructive challenge and the relationship between boards and executive leadership. My iGP certification complements this experience with governance education focused on innovation-driven companies.
I continue to serve on boards where my experience in technology, growth and organizational transformation can contribute to long-term value creation.
03 Coaching
Experience informed by professional practice
Hudson Institute Certified Executive Coach · International Coaching Foundation ACC certifiedMy coaching draws on decades of leadership experience, complemented by professional coach training. I combine curiosity, disciplined listening and thoughtful challenge to help leaders deepen their self-awareness, strengthen their judgment and develop their own answers.
"Penny is an exceptional Board Chair. She understands that a strong Board must both support and challenge the CEO, and she has built our relationship on candour, mutual trust and respect. She brings a combination of sound judgment, empathy and practical governance experience."

Why Claro?
Claro means clarity.
Over the years, I've learned that clarity doesn't mean having all the answers. It means understanding what matters, recognizing the choices in front of you and having the courage to move forward.
That's what I hope to bring to every conversation.
